We have all heard about the “Hot Stone Therapy” but how many of us have actually dared to get this massage? Very few, I’m guessing. Well there is nothing to fear, because it’s just another massage which has been practiced by natives from various regions. The only difference is that the massage is not done with hands, instead with warm stones, and the results are even better. This massage uses a variety of volcanic rocks which are especially used for this particular therapy. These stones are found in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes. They are heated in water before the massage which helps remove negative energy from soul, body and mind.

Hot stone therapy has a number of advantages. It not only relaxes the muscles and recharges the energy level; it also releases toxins and improves circulation. It is believed that it improves other illnesses such as insomnia, depression, arthritis and muscle and back pain. Stone massage is not particularly a specialty of Puerto Vallarta; on the contrary it comes from various cultures. Native people picked rocks from the river beds and the Japanese wore the warm stones around the stomach.

In Puerto Vallarta a native from Arizona, Mary Nelson has become popular for her hot stone therapy. She calls it La Stone therapy. You could also visit Terra Noble Spa that is popular for its stone therapy as well. The therapy starts with oil application and the hot stones are rubbed across the body. The stones moved in circular motions create a kind of magnetic energy that stimulates the organs and begins with the healing process. From the feet the stones glide up the calves slowly reaching for back and shoulders. The circular movements help in balancing the energy flow in the body.

Hot Stone Therapy is not the only thing that you should try this summer. This summer should also be dedicated to sun, sand and a tan. Puerto Vallarta is the right place to unwind in the white sands of its beaches. Banderas Bay has sandy coastlines that stretch out for miles. With a total number of 26 beaches, you will never get bored of this place. Visit Los Muertos, as this is the perfect spot for sunbathing. Don’t forget to take your picnic basket along, as it can get boring without good food.

You could also go up north and visit Bucerias. The beach here is rather wide and the sand is of a beautiful gold shade. You can lie on the beach all day or even go for an occasional dive in the sea. The cool breeze keeps the weather moderate here, so you will definitely enjoy a cool weather along with a sexy tan.

The International Fireworks Art Symposium is not the only colorful event. Vancouver’s Pride parade and festival managed to attract nearly 530,000 participants and viewers. This years parade highlighted education and recognized the accomplishments that have been made during the past 4 decades. In 2011, the Pride Parade and festival will collaborate with athletes and other participants of Out Games.
