Timeshares as Alternative Accommodations
If you're a frequent traveler and are looking for the best accommodations, maybe it's time to buy timeshare for yourself. Unlike days past, today's timeshares are flexible and exchangeable so that you can look forward to welcoming accommodations nearly everywhere you'd like to travel. For the habitual traveler, they're a good way to get great accommodations every time.
The most prolific maritime disaster in the world is the Titanic and the tragic events surrounding it were brought to life 11 years ago in the blockbusting Hollywood movie of the same name. Everyone has heard the tale of how White Star Liners claimed to have built a truly unsinkable ship, but what most people don’t know is that the Titanic had a $5 million dollar cruise insurance policy. In today’s money this is worth the equivalent of £20,000,000. A large amount of this cruise travel insurance was distributed to the families of the 1,500 people who died in the disaster. The tragic events of the Titanic have brought a tear to the eyes of many the audience goer who sat in the local Odeon watching the demise of DiCaprio. However, this hasn’t stopped many companies cashing in on this horrific disaster. The ultimate cash cow, a trip abroad the Titanic on the date of the centenary of the voyage, is currently on sale for £2k. The trip follows the same route of the Titanic, stopping at the site of the iceberg on the exact date and time of the disaster. They better make sure that their customers pack a hefty cruise insurance policy.
The Aurora
580 passengers and 28 staff members were struck down with the Norwalk virus whilst onboard what was dubbed by the media as the Christmas cruise from hell. The ship was refused dockage in every port it passed and over 1000 people sought legal advice upon returning home. At least the majority of people could claim the costs back from taking out a cruise insurance policy. The Norwalk virus breeds on ships and places where people are confined to small places. In order to prevent norovirus, customers are advised to avoid ice cubes whilst on board and only drink bottled water. It is also a good idea to check that you are covered on your cruise travel insurance for every eventuality.
The Pacific Sun Cruise
Passengers were glad that they remembered to take out cruise insurance before undergoing their Pacific Sun voyage to New Zealand, as 23 foot swells and 50 knot winds onboard likened their voyage to the plot of a disaster movie.
Luckily there were no onboard fatalities, but passengers were quoted as saying that anything on board that was not nailed down was flung across the ship along with them, including wine glasses, chairs and even cutlery.
Several elderly residents on board the ship left with their arms in slings and many passengers suffered broken bones, ribs and pelvises. However, a group of Australian passengers on board said that they didn’t feel that they were in danger and that despite the bumps; it was nothing out of the ordinary.
The captain had plotted a course to avoid the majority of the storm but despite this, three people on board were met by ambulances upon arriving to Auckland, New Zealand, and over 40 people sustained injuries. With New Zealand’s notoriously heavy medical costs it was a good job that they had taken out cruise insurance cover.
